  1. This would be great to show my students when teaching poetry and I try to get them to write a haiku.

      I am no poet…LOL…but I love haiku. I do the painting first. I don’t start out with the idea of illustrating a haiku…it is the opposite…the painting and the circumstances at the time of the painting seem to call for haiku. I used a photograph I took as reference for this image. When I took the shot, I didn’t realize their were bird droppings on the leaves. The leaves had lost their color and were about to fall. The scene spoke of aging and the final blow was the bird droppings…it was funny and bitter sweet in my mind. There are two other images in the gallery that have haiku. Painted gridded Collage also speaks of aging. And there is Paul Metal Sunset. I will let the haiku speak for itself. Thanks for the comment.
