Hey Friends,
One more post for today. I actually posted this image in FB, which is the opposite of what I normally do. I wasn’t going to post it on the blog, but then I realized a whole bunch of folks wouldn’t see the image. At first I wasn’t so happy with the image, but over the last day I realized that I do like it.
I am making new brushes, which I am excited about…although, today I pretty much scrapped them all and have redone them. I’m really happy about some of the techniques that are developing. It all started with the black ink washes I posted in December. But now I am working in full color and I like the wash effects and I love the granulation. I will probably need to tone down the granulation a bit, but I always go overboard when I start something. 🙂
OK…so here is the image. I hope you enjoy it.
More later,
Skip
That is so beautiful, Skip. Thanks for sharing it. I miss talking with you.
Hey Marcia,
We need to go off somewhere on a cruise. 🙂
Big Hugs,
Skip
Gorgeous!
Thanks Fren, I appreciate the note!
I love the subtle color variations. It has a very Japanese feel to it. I would like to take a class on watercolors.
Thanks Anne,
I think I am greatly influenced by Asian art. I hope to have a class sometime soon. Stay tuned.

I love the sheerness of this Skip! You are so incredibly good. Thank you for this!
Thank you bunches Colleen!
Skip,
Very nice. So amazing that you weren’t happy with this initially. I’m glad you took a second look and decided to share it. Very inspirational and ti’s encouraging me to take the time and play more with Painter 2015. Thank you.
Hi Mike,
I frequently do not like my work, especially right after making it. I have never been confident with painting. But, when I was a potter it was just the opposite. I loved the work when it came out of the kiln, but liked it less about 3 or 4 weeks later. I have a hard drive full of stuff I never shared; maybe one of these days I’ll clean it out and post some. Thanks for your comment.

Just beautiful Skip!
Thanks Rod, I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Hi Skip!
It is so good to hear from you! The painting is beautiful- not too much granulation, in my opinion. I am glad your sister is improving and retaining her independence.
I have missed you.
Hi Candace,
I’ve missed everyone, too. Thanks for your note; you are a fine friend.

So glad you reconsidered this. I love it just as it is. Can’t wait for these brushes and a class on them. You aren’t a Painter Master. You are a Painter Genius!!
Tall words Bill…not sure I can live up to them, but thanks bunches.

SkipWe all know how resource hungry PAINTER can be – I know that photo cloning caused me grief even with 8 GB.Came across this about increasing RAM in a magazine. It might benefit your readersTerry Date: Thu, 12 Feb 2015 00:58:13 +0000 To: terrygoodfellow@hotmail.com
Thanks Terry. Did you mean to leave a link to the magazine article? Increasing Ram does help with Painter, that is for sure.
Enjoy,

what ‘s not to like , this is so beautiful , i love it !
Thanks…I really appreciate your comment.
Skip, your hibiscus is awesome! It has personality and the granulation gives it a more distinguished look.
Thank you Mayra. I’m liking the granulation a bit more, but I still think it needs to be toned down some.
WOW, Skip that’s absolutely gorgeous! I just love the wash, granulation, colors and on and on.
This is what I have been looking for. It’s sooo watercolor like and done digitally.
Amazing. Please let me know how your doing this, brushes, paper textures, etc.
Just wonderful.
Thanks for sharing with us all.
Ed Rose
Thanks Ed,
I will be posting more and will have a class, too. I’m still in the exploration stage. The brushes and papers are custom, but I will provide them at some point.
Stay tuned,
Skip
Hi Skip and happy belated new year to you to. I was so glad you checked in and let us know you are OK. It is great you are enjoying your new knee and your sister is on the mend.
You have done so much to advanced digital painting and sharing or your talents. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate all that you do. Thank you. Francine
Hey Francine,
So good to hear from you. I wish I could come to your workshop about Alcohol inks; it sounds like so much fun. For others here is the link. Alcohol inks with Francine.

Skip you never cease to amaze me. Such wonderful work. Have missed chatting. My brother died before Thanksgiving. Following that I was in the hospital for a month with cellulitis. Another one of those “I don’t believe it” life challenges.
I just getting back into things taking Karen’s 2015 Painter Club.
I hope you remain well and if you do you will obviously continue to AMAZE so many of us.
Hugs,
Kathleen
Hey Kathleen,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you continue to improve…me too. Then we can both amaze, right?
Hugs,
Skip
Rediscovered your site after visiting my quilting, etc and just moved up to Painter 2015. Found that older brushes were not compatible enough to stop the hand wringing, so deleted and am starting over. Love the speed of the newest version of Painter.
Hey Raven,
I may be misunderstanding, but older brushes are definitely compatible with Corel Painter 2015. Brushes are forward compatible but not backward. In other words, brushes made in Painter X, 11, 12 and X3 will work in Painter 2015. but the reverse is not true. Brushes made in Painter 2015 will not work in the earlier versions. The speed increases are terrific; I agree.
Let me know if I can help with installing older brushes,
Skip
very beautiful. I love your w/c style Skip
Thank you very much. It is a style that is always evolving…especially as the watercolor brushes evolve.
I just wanted to thank you for your helpful tutorials and blog. I am learning to paint and falling in love with it. Your posts are inspiring and helpful. I know it must take a lot of time to produce your work. Know that I appreciate this deeply.
Thank you very much for your kind comment. I do love doing what I do.
Enjoy,

I love that however life treats you and Tim, going home to new discoveries in Digital Art is like Chicken Soup for your creative energies. Your new watercolors are amazing and I am glad you sparked both of your creative spirits with them.
I think the Digital Art World is like the Impressionists at Cafe Guerbois. Borrowing and being inspired by one another.
Thanks Skip and keep on tweeking those brushes.
Hey Harry,
You are so kind and have made my day. I appreciate your comments more than you will ever know.
Enjoy,
