Registration is Still Open for Painter 2018, Is It Real Paint

Hello Everyone,

You can still register for my class, Painter 2018, Is It Real Paint.  I cover all the new functions released with Painter 2018 and more.  The class includes 115 video demonstrations and many resources, such as brushes, papers, textures, etc.  I don’t think you will find another class that offers as much as this class.  Do register right away.  Everything is available for download to your computer; you can watch and work the assignments at your leisure.  The class will stay open well into the new year, however, registration will close December 31, 2017.  Don’t delay!

I hope to see you in class!  I created this image while demonstrating thick paint.  I had taken a photograph of Cade’s Cove in the Smokey Mountains on a winter day.  It was cold and a winter storm was brewing.  I wanted to express the feeling of the day, plus I was in a somewhat somber mood when I did the painting.  I love the new thick paint brushes and explain in detail how they work and show you how to build your own.  I think thick paint is one of the best new features of Painter 2018.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who follow this tradition.  And I want to wish everyone the Happiest Holiday Season and the Best New Year ever!

Enjoy,

Skip

  1. Hi Skip,

Your class looks very interesting. Could you give me an idea of the amount of time it will involve every week. For example, is there a lesson for each day of each week. If so, how much time would be required for each lesson. I realize that this will depend to some degree on the individual, but please just give me some idea as my time is limited.

    • Hi Mike,
The class has been going on for several months; it actually started a week after Painter 2018 was released. This type of class is called open enrollment, which means you can join at anytime, download the videos and resource materials and then work at your own pace. The class is divided into 4 sessions that I call weeks, but it is a lot of material, so taking longer than a week on each section is the norm. Most students download the videos, watch them, sometimes more than once, then do the assignments. You can post your assignments and I make comments about your work. You can also ask question in the question forums and I will answer those. Sometimes I will do a bonus video if it is easier to answer the question that way. The class will remain open to students well into the next year, but enrollment closes Dec 31st. If you need additional information, please feel free to ask. Hope to see you in class. Skip

  2. Hi Skip,

I would love to take your course but am receiving a message that there is a problem paying through Pay Pal. Is there any other way to pay? I have changed my Pay Pal password but am still having a problem.

    • Hi Andi,
I’m sorry but PayPal is the only accepted with the class. Are you having trouble on our site paying…or is the problem with you PayPal account? I checked and it appears the site is working correctly. Let me know if there is anything I can do, but I don’t have another way for payment for the class.

  3. Hi, Skip. If I sign up for the 2018 course today (Dec 3), how long will it be available for me to follow? Thanks.

    • As long as you sign up before 31 Dec 2017, the class will be available for you to download all videos and work at your leisure. As mentioned in my other response, I don’t know exactly, but the class outlining the new stuff in Painter 2017 is still open for folks who took it. I cannot say how long it or the class for 2018 will remain open…it is based on server space…as new classes are developed, we close the older ones. But, I don’t see the 2018 class closing for at least 4 to 6 months.
