New Wacom Drivers Available 6/18/2013

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been out and about and not doing anything on the blog…I’m so bad.  But, I had to jump in and let you know that Wacom has new drivers available.  That’s all folks.  There are posts on my blog that will tell you how to install and uninstall your Wacom Drivers.  There is a search feature above…it will take you to other posts about the Wacom Driver.

I’ll be back soon, I promise.

Additional information:

Sorry, I made this post very fast and left out some information that might be helpful.

I have not checked the regions other than the Americas, so it is possible if you live outside of that region, the drivers have not been updated for you.  All regions are usually updated within a week or so of each other.

Here is the link for the Wacom Drivers in the Americas.

You can find how to uninstall and install Wacom drivers for the PC and Mac on my blog here:  Uninstall and Install Wacom Drivers.

The Wacom Drivers can fail from time to time when launching.  Look at this blog post for some answers to that problem.

Ok…hope these links help.

    • Hi Karla,

It was my fault. I was in a live meeting when I checked the Wacom site. I wanted to post right away, so I did a quick post and hoped you would find the rest of the information on my blog about the drivers. In the search function, you gave a bit too much information. If you just put in Wacom Drivers, you will see quite a few links about the drivers in general. I was hoping that folks would review the Post called Uninstall and Install Wacom Drivers for the PC and Mac, and the Post that has Make your Wacom Sticky in the title. If you search for just “Wacom Drivers”, those two topics will be there.

      Hope this helps,

PS: General notes about the drivers themselves are located at the Wacom website. And, if you are not in the Americas, the drivers may not be available. The rest of the regions do get updates, too, but about a week or so later than the Americas.

    • Fantastic Kenneth. I’m glad to hear it. I guess I better check Europe as well as the Americas when I’m looking for the latest driver. Hope all is going well with you. Take care, Skip

  1. Thank you Skip!

I’d like to know why the Wacom drivers are so buggy. I’ve had my Intruos 3 6×8 tablet since Dec. 2005 and I’ve updated drivers every time a new one was available. It seems every update is full of bugs. So why after 8 years they can not get it right! Even this new one does not always load on startup. I’m running Windows 7 and with all the latest updates.

    • Hi Jerry,

I haven’t experienced a lot of bugs with Wacom Drivers…actually, I don’t remember any except for the problem with loading at start up. That wasn’t really a bug in the driver, that was a conflict between two drivers loading at the same time. And, there was a way to set Services to delay start the Wacom Driver and that fixed the problem. In the most recent driver, the delay start was not available, but there is a restart function if and when the driver fails. I have been using that and I don’t have any problems with the start of Wacom drivers.

You may want to try it also. There is a video on my blog about it. It’s called making your Wacom Sticky. Check it out and give it a try.

      Hope it works for you,

  2. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I wouldn’t have known about the update without you, and it fixed an issue I feel like I’ve been dealing with forever! You’ve done your good deed for the day and then some…I hope life treats you accordingly. 🙂

  3. Thank you so much for your article on install and uninstall wacom drivers. It worked and that was the 4th time I tried it before finding your article. I am a photoshop person and was having trouble connecting my wacom inturos5 with my mac. Modifier keys were not working on my keyboard so I thought) when I tried to input the shortcuts for the express keys thru keystroke. I tried everything and shopped short of getting a new keyboard. Finally figured out after the last install via your info that you cannot
just add command, option than shift etc you must press the keys all together, (at the same time) to add to the command line when you are putting in the shortcut. An “ah ha” moment to say the least, the brushes were very sticky too until I did as you said and deleted all folders relating to the previous install BEFORE i reinstalled. This is way too much info on this but if anyone else is having this issue with the keyboard please pass this along to the newbie owners of Wacom inturos5 tablets…a simple thing when you know it but it has taken me 2 days to figure it out on my own.
    thanks again for your blog…
