This one is called “Almost Three.” I love working with the inky blacks, but lately I have been wanting to add color to the images. I add color and paint, but when nearly finished, I switch to adding color through various digital methods. I am also making some rice papers, which are not finished. When done, I will post an updatted version. Enjoy

I do enjoy working with Painter’s watercolor. Here are a few more.
This first one is very tall…interested in that tall thin format. It is called “One Tree.”

Very quickly done image in Corel Painter 2023. I like working in several media in Corel. Working digitally makes it easy. This image is a combination of watercolor and liquid ink. At the end, I used a cool feature called Interactive Gradient.
So much fun working in Corel Painter.

No tutorials this time; I am just sharing some recent work.
I am a bit out of practice, but I do love the sumi-e style. Watercolor in Painter 2023 using some of my custom brushes.
I call this style landscape abstracts. I want the simplest brush work possible but expressing a lot of content. I want the viewer to have participation in discovering their own landscape.
This last one I was trying to get a good emulation of traditional watercolor and a more traditional approach to painting in Painter 2023. I was pleased with the effort.
