New Wacom Tablet Drivers Released for Windows

Hello Friends,

Wacom has released new tablet drivers for Windows OS.  I am sure Mac will follow shortly.  I have a new Cintiq 24 HD Touch that hasn’t worked correctly since I bought it a few weeks ago.  Wacom support tells me the new driver will fix the situation.  I hope so.

To find the drivers, follow this link.  Wacom Drivers

Remember it is best to uninstall the current drivers, reboot, install the new drivers, and reboot.

Enjoy,

Skip

  1. Thanks so much for always keeping us up to date with what’s going on in the digital world Skip! … you really are appreciated! Hugs

  2. Skip, I saw in a video once of yours that you execute Painter on Windows using a command line to specify Number of cpus etc. Where can I find some documentation on the command line switches? And if you have a specific recommendation on settings, they would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Ric Anderson

    • Hi Ric,
Wow…that was ages ago. That isn’t necessary anymore. You can specify the number of cores used by going to Edit > Preferences > Performance. There you can set the Multicore usage to whatever you want. The default is half the number of cores that you have. Once you change it, you need to close and reopen painter for it to take effect.
      Hope this helps,

  3. Hi Skip..am taking your new class What’s New and I have a request! At some point in the future would it be feasible for you to post screen grabs of your Radial Dial setups…show how you embed your sub-slices into your main categories. I guess I could pause your videos and try to figure it our myself…but it looks interesting and I have avoided using the Radial Menu because my use of Painter is narrow. I use Painter a lot but the tools I use are limited. But I like how you use the Dial all the time and this might open up being more experimental in my use of Painter…and my Wacom Cintiq! I have the Companion.

Thanks Skip…am enjoying your class. You have a way of teaching that just “works” for me.
