Join Aaron Rutten and Me In a Live Demonstration of Watercolor in Corel Painter 2016

Hello Friends,

Corel Master Painter Elite Aaron Rutten and I are having a Live Session on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Savings time.  I hope you can join us live, but if you cannot, do not worry…you can download the recorded broadcast.

Follow this link to join the live stream.  When you click on the link, look at the bottom of the window.  You can click on full screen mode or click on You Tube and go directly to the broadcast on You Tube.  No need to do it until Friday, July 1, 2016, at 3:00 PM EDT.

This is my first live stream experience.  Luckily, Aaron is an old pro and knows how to set it up.  I’m just along for the ride.

If I understand it correctly, you view our Painter desktops side by side.  Watch us demonstrate watercolor in Painter 2016 and answer any questions that may come up.

I hope this is enjoyable for everyone.  If so, I can have more live streaming sessions.

See you Friday, July 1, 2016 at 3:00 PM EDT.

  1. Skip, no doubt, Ptr 2015 lacks certain watercolor features that are in Ptr 2016. How relevant do you think the Painter 2016 watercolor demonstration will be for those who, like myself, have Painter 2015. It’s the highest version of Painter my computer (my OS) can accommodate?

    • Hey David, that is a good question and I’m not sure I know the answer. I don’t have 2015 installed on my newest computer…I still have it on an old one and I’ll need to take a look at it to be sure. But, if memory serves, I don’t think there was anything new with watercolor in 2016. Wait, I take that back. I forgot that there were a bunch of new dab types that were launched in 2016 that could be used with watercolor methods. I know I will be using some variants using the new technology. Will I be using any that do not…probably, but it is hard for me to say. I don’t think about the variants and when their technology was developed. It still may be of interest to you to watch. You might see something that will encourage you to upgrade. Unfortunately, software and hardware keep progressing and the older stuff doesn’t get supported anymore. Does the new stuff offer enough extras to warrant an upgrade…only you can answer that. It is a tough call for sure.

      • Thanks Skip!
My Mac Pro1,1 (built in Nov. 2007) won’t accommodate Mac OS beyond my present OS X 10.7.5 (Lion). Painter 2016 requires OS X 10.9 or 10.9. So, to upgrade my OS will require a new computer. I simply love this great old Mac Pro tower. But, as you wrote, technology continues to progress . . . and I know I will eventually have to say goodbye to this trusty old Mac Pro.
