Hey Gang,
Wacom released a new driver today for the PC users, which will bring us up to the same version as the Macs: 6.3.4-3. Here is the info provided by Wacom for this driver:
Driver supports Intuos5 (PTH), Intuos4 (PTK) and Intuos3 (PTZ) pen tablets and the Cintiq 24HD Touch, Cintiq 24HD, Cintiq22HD, Cintiq 21UX, Cintiq 12WX, Cintiq 20WSX, DTU-2231, DTU-1931 and DTU-1631 pen displays.
Save the file to your computer and then double-click on it to launch the installer.
Release Notes:
- Added support for Windows 8
- Added new Windows 8 1-finger “swipe” gestures
- Implemented enhancements to the touch user interface
- Other enhancements and bug fixes
Be sure to uninstall any current tablet driver installation before installing.
Note: If you are a left-handed pen user and use an Intuos5 or Cintiq 24HD touch, select your handedness in the “Options…” dialog box of the Wacom Tablet Properties control panel to enable proper functioning of palm rejection.

Hi John,
Yes, the update is for the following operating systems: Windows 8 and 7, Vista, and XP. You may not need the Windows 8 update, but remember they have fixed other bugs as well. I would install it.

I have loaded mine, and it works fine–haven’t noticed any changes but from what I have known in the past this is a good thing!
I haven’t noticed anything either, except that performance seems better. I’m waiting for Windows 8 to arrive. I’m anxious to see how the driver works with Window 8.

I just bought a brand new Intuos 5 medium. After installing the drivers, all my graphics programs crash. Even my router crashes. This started immediately after installing the driver. I uninstalled the driver and unplugged the tablet and my graphics programs still crash. What in the world is going on ? The driver has totally wrecked my computer. I’ve searched all over and I see many posts on the same problem but not a single solution. How do I fix this?

What a mess you have. I have never heard of this happening before, so I did a quick search and found a few examples of it. Have you talked to Wacom Tech Support? If you have, tell me what they said. Also, sometimes when you uninstall something, pieces are left behind. You may need another piece of software to help you clean out your registry. I suspect that the driver isn’t completely gone.
Would love to hear more about this.

Well I found the problem. Before installing the intuos5, I had a small wacom graphire tablet installed. I didn’t uninstall that driver before installing the intuos, and apparently that was causing the problem. I uninstalled both drivers ( at first I ha only uninstalled the intuos driver and the crashing was continuing) and that cleared up the crashing issues. I then re installed the intuos driver and now its working.
But that seems to be the problem. Apparently, installing the intuos driver over an old driver corrupts both drivers, so both must be removed to fix the crashes.

Great news Shawn, Yes, even if you are updating your driver for the I5, you have to uninstall the current driver. I’m glad you like the tablet. I do too. I think the Wacom Products are terrific. Skip
