New Wacom Driver for Macs, Posted 9/26/2012

Hi Gang,

There is a new driver posted for Wacom tablets for folks who use Mac OS.  There isn’t a new one for Windows, yet…not sure if there will be one.  I did not check other regions…the new driver is available for the Americas.

To get the driver, click on Wacom Drivers, Americas

Don’t forget to uninstall first, then install the new driver.  Be sure to back up your preference before uninstalling.  In a Mac, you can do all of this from the Wacom Preference file.

I’m late announcing this again.  I would have been later but my friend Miguel gave me a heads up.

Remember to delete your previous install and then install the new driver.  I didn’t check other regions for the update.

Wacom Adds New Driver Jun 14, 2012

Hello Friends,

I just noticed that Wacom has a new update.  The driver information said this:

“Driver supporting Intuos5, Intuos4 WL, USB versions of all Intuos4 (PTK) and Intuos3 (PTZ) pen tablets and the Cintiq 24HD, 21UX, 12WX, 20WSX,DTU-2231, DTU-1931 and DTU-1631 pen displays.

Save the file to your computer and then double-click on it to launch the installer.

Be sure to uninstall any current tablet driver installation before installing. If you have any questions, please contact Wacom Technical Support at 800-922-6613.”

I am unsure if the driver is posted for other regions; it is available for the Americas.

Wacom Posts New Drivers…April 23, 2012

Hello Everyone,

I am slipping.  I totally missed that Wacom posted new drivers on April 23, 2012.  I checked Wacom Europe and it doesn’t look like the driver  posted there, yet.  I did not check any other regions.

I didn’t notice any new features.

Don’t forget to back up your settings by opening the Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility prior to the new install.  I always uninstall the current driver before installing the new one.  Once installed, I restore my settings using the Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility.  This makes it easy to reset the tablet to my custom preferences.

Check for new drivers here.  The new driver is for the intuos and cintiq lines…and includes the Intuos 5, too.

New Wacom Driver has been Posted

Hello Everyone,

This is just a quick announcement to let you know that the Intous Wacom Driver I announced here is now back up and available for download.  I didn’t check for Cintiq or other Wacom Products.  I am not sure this is available for other countries or not.  The driver I downloaded indicated it was World Wide except for Eruope, Africa, and the Middle East.  Check at the Wacom site for those countries.  Wacom added a new feature.  You can see my video about it here.

That’s all for now…post again soon,

Wacom Driver 11/17/2012 Adds Enhanced Feature

UPDATE:  The drivers are no longer on the site as of 11/29/2011 10:36 PM.  Hopefully they will be posted again, soon.  I do not know if there was a problem or if it is just a problem with the web site.  Hopefully we will find something out soon.

Sorry for the problem…Skip

Hello Everyone,

I just noticed that there is a new Wacom driver available.  There is a new feature or enhanced feature; they changed and improved  the old “Tip Feel Slider” with the detail button.  I find the new version more intuitive than the old version.  I don’t think the driver is available anywhere except the Americas.  I checked Europe and didn’t see it there.

I did a quick video showing the enhanced feature.  Hope you enjoy it.

Have some fun today,

Wacom Intuos and Cintiq Driver Update for MAC OS X v 10.7, 10.6, and 10.5 (Intel)

Hey Folks,

On October 13, 2011, Wacom released a new driver for the Americas (the United States, Canada, and Latin America).  I glanced at Europe and it didn’t look like the driver was available for that region yet; I didn’t check any others.

There isn’t a new driver for the PC since the one released on Sept 13, 2011.

I suspect this is a significant update.  MAC users…go get it!

Thanks Carlos for letting me know about the update.

New Driver for Wacom Pen Tablets

Hello Everyone,

Wacom released a new driver 9/13/2011 for the Intuos Pen Tablets.  Here is the link for the Americas Wacom Product Drivers.

Links for other areas:  (Update…just heard from Tim Shelbourne after I posted that the driver for Europe is not updated.  We checked Asia/Pacific and it isn’t updated either.  I do not know about China and Japan.  So apparently, the update is available only for the Americas at the moment.  Hopefully Wacom will post to the other sites soon.  If you are a CS5 user, the updated driver enables full pressure.  Thanks Tim.)

I have used a Wacom Intuos tablet for several years.  Currently I am using the Wacom Intuos 4.  I love this product.  The 2048 levels of pressure are fantastic and make painting with Painter 12 an absolute joy.

Have Fun,
